Ants are social insects that live in large colonies or groups. There are three kinds of ants in a colony: the queen, the female workers, and males.
There are more than 12,000 kinds of ants all over the world. They can live for many years and have millions of babies. Ants don’t have any lungs. Oxygen enters through tiny holes in the body and carbon dioxide leaves through the same holes.
An ant can lift 20 times its own body weight and they don’t have ears. Ants hear by feeling vibrations in the ground through their feet. The queen and the males have wings while the workers don’t have any wings.
During the day the ants travel to find food they attack other colonies and insects they encounter. At night, they build a temporary nest and keep moving the next morning. All The worker ants make a nest out of their own bodies to protect the queen,the food, and the eggs.
